As a general rule, a department should not purchase insurance without prior approval of the policy through Insurance Services within the Department of Contract Administration. Insurance Services oversees more than 50 property and casualty insurance policies and coordinates the review of property damage and personal injury claims filed against TAMU. Departments should contact Insurance Services at (979) 845-0099 or insurance@tamu.edu prior to purchasing property or liability policies to ensure all insurance coverage is procured in accordance with System Policy 24.01: Risk Management.
